The first phase involved the demolition of an existing building and removal of asphalt, concrete, retaining walls, and all site utilities. Also included in this phase was the salvage and transport of an existing compactor and hydraulic power unit. The second phase included the construction of a new transfer station facility with a lower level trailer maneuvering area, recycle buildings, and an administration building. To integrate with the existing community, the site includes an open space incorporating amenities such as a play area for children, a sports court and open play field, static exercise stations, and art installations. Off-site improvements included new sidewalks, cross-walks, and utility replacement.
