Therapy Pool & Polytrauma Building – Dept. of Veterans Affairs

Beginning in 2009, the Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Puget Sound Healthcare System received stimulus bill funding through the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act. The VA chose to expand the Polytrauma unit with a rehabilitation therapy center for veterans recovering from traumatic brain injuries, amputations and other injuries.

In 2011, Lydig was selected with its partner Totem Pacific to construct a new two-story building that contains therapy and exercise pools as well as a polytrauma exam area in the existing courtyard. The 16,000 SF building offers therapy and exercise pools accompanied by locker rooms, exercise/rehab areas, offices and exam rooms, and partially usable interstitial space for mechanical equipment and storage.
