This 134,400 SF single‑story detention facility provides secure housing for 813 beds on a 14‑acre site near SeaTac International Airport. Constructed in two phases using precast concrete and steel, the facility features prefabricated steel detention cells, comprehensive electronic security with cameras in every cell, and durable, low‑maintenance interior finishes. Sustainable strategies, including heat-recovery HVAC systems, daylighting through skylights, permeable paving, a reflective roof, and extensive use of reclaimed steel, support long-term operational efficiency. The project was delivered through close collaboration with multiple cities in South King County to address a shared regional detention need.
