Sound Transit E335 Parking Garage

The East Link Extension – Bellevue City Hall Garage project demonstrates complex urban construction, integrating active transit infrastructure with structural modifications to an occupied civic facility in downtown Bellevue.
The East Link Extension expands Sound Transit’s Link Light Rail service from Seattle’s International District across I‑90 to downtown Bellevue and the Redmond Technology Station. As a subcontractor to the Stacy and Witbeck/Atkinson Joint Venture, Lydig performed the partial demolition and expansion of the Bellevue City Hall Parking Garage to accommodate new underground and portal rail construction associated with the NE 6th Street Station. The work involved demolishing and rebuilding the north half of the occupied, four‑story garage while expanding its footprint, using temporary shear walls and shoring to maintain operations during construction. Lydig completed concrete, structural steel, finishes, and associated mechanical and fire protection work within a secured downtown environment requiring heightened coordination and access controls.
