Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences Innovation Hall
Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) was founded in 2005 to prepare healthcare professionals to serve rural and medically underserved communities across the Pacific Northwest. It was the first new medical school in the region in 60 years. Today it trains more than 650 students in osteopathic medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, medical sciences, and dental medicine.
Innovation Hall, completed in July 2025, is the newest building on PNWU's 70-acre Yakima campus. The two-story, 42,000 SF facility has a cross-laminated timber (CLT) structure, a renewable mass-timber system that gives the interior warm, exposed wood. The building includes faculty offices, classrooms, and flexible teaching spaces designed for medical education. It has already hosted campus events such as PNWU's annual Research Symposium.
