The Pre-conditioned Air (PC Air) project allows flight crews to turn off aircraft auxiliary engines and plug in to the airport infrastructure to access both heated and cooled air.

This program shifts the source of energy used from jet fuel to the airport’s low carbon electricity sources, lowering costs while producing significant environmental benefits by reducing tens of thousands of tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions each year. The centralized PC Air system will reduce, if not eliminate, the reliance of on-aircraft auxiliary power units (APUs) and ground power units (GPUs).
